A Taste of Italy in Northland
Nestled on Vine Street in the heart of Whangarei, Handsome Frog Artisan Bakery & Pizzeria brings the warmth and authenticity of Italian cuisine to New Zealand's Northland region.
Founded by Giovanni and Maria Rossi in 2012, our bakery began as a small storefront with a single wood-fired oven. Today, we remain committed to the same principles that guided us from the beginning: using time-honored techniques, the finest local ingredients, and a generous dose of amore to create food that nourishes both body and soul.
Every morning before dawn, our bakers begin their work—kneading dough by hand, preparing sauces from scratch, and filling our bakery with the irresistible aromas of freshly baked bread and simmering tomatoes. We believe that great food doesn't need to be complicated; it simply needs care, quality ingredients, and respect for tradition.
